WMBA offers four skill specific rides a year- two in May. These rides are led by our teammate, Lianna Miller, a USA Cycling Level 2 coach. Lianna will hone in on techniques that will help you feel more confident on mountain bike trails. You’ll have the opportunity to practice in a grassy area doing drills that everyone from the most beginner rider to the most seasoned expert will have heaps of fun at (and get better at riding their bikes at the same time).
The first skill ride this month is Monday, May 14th at Monument Valley Park, where Fontanero deadends west of Cascade St. The second is Monday, May 21st at Bear Creek Terrace, at the parking lot off Argus.
We especially want to encourage beginners not to be intimidated; we’ll be doing all these drills in a flat grassy field.
We hope that learning and practicing skills and drills will make you more confident on the bike trails!

Join us for the first group ride of the season at Red Rocks Open Space on Thursday, May 10th. The ride starts at 6pm, please arrive 10-15 minutes early.

Review the following information so you are ready to enjoy the ride!

Sign our group ride waiver- It’s electronic and on our website, so please fill it out before the group ride to save time at the trailhead.

Bring a helmet, water, snack, spare tube, gloves, and your ride plate.

Have your bike ready by having it tuned up by Colorado Cyclist

If a ride is cancelled due to weather we will post the cancellation of Facebook, Twitter, and through an email. Be sure to “like” us on Facebook and “follow” us on Twitter to get the updates.

Attendance- look for our attendance flag and check-in with the person taking attendance with the ipad. We’re not promising anything but last year we recognized our top attendees with a special gift.

Color-coded groups- Look for your group by finding the color bandana of your group ride leaders (Green=Beg, Blue=Int, Black=Adv). Groups will assemble in a place to not impede traffic or other trail users. Know your Group Ride Level.

Start Routes- Your leaders will follow a pre-arranged start route to avoid bottlenecks at the trail head.
